so have any of you watched Codename: Kids Next Door? I turned it on today, and I guess #1 and #2 were sitting a table watching a girl get mad at her dad for saying something embarassing. and the first dialogue I heard was after the daughter and dad left, when #2 goes, "what's a bra?" and #1 goes, "And what's she training for??" in a british accent. and i laughed. so i kept watching, and the dad is this ridiculous characature of bill Cosby. which was also funny.
and now there's a Trix commercial on. and the rabbit is watching a boy band from offstage (I guess he's got connections) and he's like, "Those guys are a hit! And the fans are giving them Trix!" and indeed, the fans are handing out boxes of Trix and even bowls of Trix up to the guys on stage while they're performing. man stuff like that is so funny.
and the rabbit isn't even that disappointed at the end of the commercial. he just gazes up from the front row and goes, "they'll always be a hit with me!" and sighs deepely. Maybe the rabbit is gay. But he doesn't realize it. He just has an insatiable urge to get some Trix. He's obviously using the displacement method as an ego defense mechanism. He's looking for something, but it's not cereal. it's his true identity. maybe someday he'll find that rabbit inside that's been trying to get out, but can't because the rabbit community won't accept him (their culture is based around reproduction, no?) Maybe Trix cereal represents the Rabbit's unconscious. no wait. maybe he's just insecure in general. I mean, every other cereal icon (Count Chocula, that Toucan, The Cap'n, and the epitome of masculinity in the cereal world, Tony the Tiger) all have complete control over their cereal, and even have the power to distribute it to children. The Rabbit has to resort to constant theivery and deception to get his hands on one lousy box, and even then, he can never hold onto it for long. We've all witnessed for ourselves the failure of the Trix rabbit, but just how deep does his dejection run? It's not penis envy, but the Trix rabbit is definitely suffering from some inferiority complex. He must have been raised with a whole litter of other rabbits, so he probably received no special attention from his parents.
(the milk is an obvious reference to his mother, and the rabbit is horrified at the sight of it. it's CLEAR that the rabbit had a lonely childhood)maybe he's working towards fufilling his childhood by finally doing something noteworthy.
um.....i don't know how to end this.
I swear to god my english essay on the final sounded exactly like this. and I ended that by saying Conrad from Ordinary People was the Oedipal Victor.
but I think in this instance i'll just post this:
do you guys remember this guy from the burger king commercials??? what a dude.
oh yeah. Codename: Kids Next door have a villain who is a huge, oversized (sweet redundancy!) bully-looking blond kid whose name is Big Brother.
THAT IS ENOUGH FOR ONE MORNING
no wait it's not this show keeps getting better. there's a car full of sharks ordering fastfood drive-thru. shit like that is GENIUS. haha and the dad shark is driving and he's like (in shark language), "Oh great! A red light! Doesn't anyone realize I have to keep moving?"
wow wouldn't you hate it if i recounted every tv show i watched like this?
