haha the fuck
i'm going over the list of idiomatic expressions (all 4829875 of them) for the psycho test wednesday.
and she's weird, so she lists all of them without the english definition. and so I see,
prendre des gants avec quelqu'un
and at first glance, I think, "oh, that's probably 'to hold hands' or something." well it's not. it means, "to handle someone with kid gloves."
what the hell??? that can be taken in so many ways....but more importantly, why the FUCK is that an idiomatic expression we have to learn????
