I just went outside (!) with a glass of cold water, and the glass fogged up like a mo.

jeeeee-sus. i can't believe how summer went so fast. i have NOTHING to show for it. I can't even finish this book. it's about a Russian professor. I think i can't finish it cause it's about a Russian professor. ugggg and i have to clean my room. motherfucker. ugggggg listen to me whine. sorry.

uggg and i have to write for Gordon. goddddammit. i thought i was through with writing for her. that's why the satire class was not my first choice. that's how much i didn't like writing for gordon. but eyaear=sdf j.

hoo boy. just got back from Cargo Largo, a huge retail place in Independence. they have a lot of stuff, and it's all really cheap. I got a green hat liner. but i think i'll just wear it without the hat. but yeah....strange collection. eclectic collection of CDs (each 6.99) I got Superchunk's first album and Red Hot Riot.

and we ate at Hi Boy. .hahah that place is real good. especially with root beer. anyway.

just so you know, my life is not bad at all. I mean, based on how much I complain about on the blog. I mean, I'm using the word "life" loosely.


If any of you end up working at an Independent movie theater, maybe having a job in charge of hiring people, this is what you should not do. You should not tell someone that you are "hiring" at the beginning of the summer, and have them come down and be shown around and stuff, and then not hire them all summer, until they call back and you say, "well, I'm not hiring right now, but I will be at the end of August."
you know what, just don't do that. cause it's really fucking annoying.


So now that July is almost over, it's time to pick THE song of the summer.

oh good i'm glad hillary didn't forget. to talk about our intersting lives. cause mine just got more interesting. well, not really. just more complicated. on my scale. which means everything is complicated. Like that Avril Lavigne song. yeah....just like that.

so um Singin in the Rain is showing at the Englewood through Thursday. but that's in Independence. so if anyone is interested....or not....or interested in driving to Independence... (road trip?) call.

California Pizza Kitchen: The pizza was good, but it wasn't SPECTACULAR. Like, we don't know what the big shit is. But Amani works there.
The (International) Noise Conspiracy's one CD that's mostly white: good, but short.
Grand Theft Auto, Vice City: Fun and funny, good music, but guys, not a big turn on for the ladies. Put it away when they come over. thanksthatdbegreatttttt.
Manu Chao: hella bodacious
"Summertime" by the Sundays: good. warm.
Frankie Lane: bad ass.
Au Revoir Les Enfants: sad.
Guy Richie: genius.

ok now for complaining, because this is my blog, and there is no other reason i would start one than to just talk about myself. that's why hillary's started one. HAHAH Just kidding, hillary.

anyway. I'm working on this piano piece right now...it's for four people to play, aaa do you call that a quartet, i'm thinking. anyway. It's a big Scott Joplin thing, arrangements of his stuff. and it's the longest thing i've ever seen in my life. It's unbelievable. When you finally get through one page, all relieved and stuff, you see there are six more pages just like it still to come. What makes it really bad is because it's only a fourth of the piece, there's little coherence to what you're playing. Just snippets of melody...so it's hard to fully grasp what this thing will sound like. Just a bunch of chords to me. what's REALLLY irritating, probably what irks me the most is my part is the upper part of one piano, so everything I play is in the upper two or three octaves of the piano. So it's all really chinky-chinky and soft and when everything you play is up there on those notes, it drives you crazy but what prompted me to finally rant about it was this. I was making a little headway, made it through another page...then at the top of the next page was one of those notes with a little 'x' on the end instead of the regular note. Those things usually mean percussion. ANd it said "hand claps or foot stomps" and I just thought you've got to be kidding me.

sooo when you were in gym class...and on the first day the teacher gave you those combination locks...with the combo written on a piece of masking tape taped to the lock...did you ever ponder, "hmm..I wonder who puts the combinations on these locks!" well it's me.
and did you ever wonder who the person was who puts the trophies in their cases in the gym? yeah that's me too.
and did you ever wonder if Phillips gym was air conditioned outside the Athletic office? cause it's not.

-went to bed past 4 a.m. ( i couldn't sleeeeeep)
-no bike riding
-really humiliating SAT prep classes. oh my god it's so bad. i could fucking teach the math one. errrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrg.
-not a lot of cool people in the classes (ok, only a judgement...but oh man.)
-it's hot
-have to hand my fat check over to my dad

aw!!! there's nothing like french boys to put a smile on your face!

we got a new refridgerator and it's the SHIT. it gave an excuse to throw some stuff out....but i did get the chance to put Three Muskateers Sudae Topping straight into my mouth before dumping it out.
ok anyway. Pia's art/open house thingie at the the Art Institute that showcases the work they've been doing is tomorrow night. from 6-7 or 6-8 one or the other. anyway. You should totally go. I don't know exactly where it is on campus...but it's there somewhere. SO yeah.........just so you know.

you know what? wardrobe is pretty important. i found that out. i don't feel like explaining further. well i do actually but it would be confusing.

the paper said that Jack White did a version of "Mr. Cellaphane" (sp?) which would have been totally sweet to see, so i guess i missed that about the white stripes concert ( I hesitated to say "Stripes concert" but then i stopped being a tool.) yeah that would have been cool.
